Khalil Al-Thawadi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, was formerly a member of the Bahraini Shura Council, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Egypt, Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States (2004-2010) and Non-Resident Ambassador to Sudan (2005-2010). Prior to his career as a diplomat, Al-Thawadi served as CEO of the Bahrain Radio and Television Corporation. He also represented the Kingdom of Bahrain in several Arab, regional and international symposia and still writes articles in the press. Al-Thawadi will meet his readers in a lecture entitled “A City, Two Villages and a Life Experience.”
From the idea of a house that opens its door to the cultures and sciences of the peoples, to the house whose owner used to write and gather what happens in the place and outside it … the house of Abdullah Al Zayed was the first to found journalism in Bahrain with a modern press and library. He was also the first to open a cinema. He was the only editor who worked passionately to publish the weekly Bahrain Newspaper, and even encouraged aspirants to write about literature and culture.
