The editor of the Bahraini newspaper Akhbar Al-Khaleej since 2000, Anwar Abdulrahman is an eminent reader who is well-versed in history and politics and fluent in Arabic, Persian and English. Abdulrahman contributed to the establishment of Al-Hilal, a company specialized in the distribution of imported newspapers and magazines. In 1976, he co-launched the first Arabic daily newspaper in Bahrain (Gulf News) with the late Mahmoud Al-Murdi. Two years later, the English newspaper Gulf Daily News was launched. In his talk “The Hidden Hands of History” at Abdullah Al-Zayed House, Abdulrahman provides an historical assessment of three men who played a major role in 20th century politics: T.E. Lawrence, Iwaichi Fujiwara, and Ernesto Guevara.
