A Lebanese poet, writer and journalist, El-Hajj studied philosophy at Sorbonne University before returning to Beirut to enter the field of theatrical acting. She translated many plays from French into the Lebanese dialect that were performed as part of municipal theater program in the 1980s. She participated in the translation of the late poet Nadia Tueni’s book Love” Notes to Lebanon While at War”from French into Arabic. Between 1981 and 1996, El-Hajj worked as an editor for the cultural section entitled Dalil Fairouz in the monthly magazine Fairouz published by Dar Al-Sayyad. She also wrote for the cultural section of An-Nahar newspaper in Beirut and in the Al-Hayat newspaper, and has published 9 poetry collections to date.

Where memory is the house of culture and knowledge; where the original council, separated by a cultural sidewalk that connects Muharraq with the intellectuals and writers of the world. The house itself, located at the heart of the city, opens its doors to cultural production in the fields of thought, literature, politics, philosophy, culture and art.
