Farouk El-Baz is an Egyptian-American scientist who formerly worked at NASA where he helped plan the moon’s geological exploration, including identifying suitable landing sites for Apollo missions and training astronauts to select suitable samples of lunar soil and bring them to Earth for study. El-Baz is considered one of the most famous space scientists in the world. Over his career, he made many important scientific achievements and discoveries and held top-ranking scientific positions, gaining him international prominence. El-Baz is a bona fide lover of the desert, prompting him to explore its treasures and revealing its secrets in various studies. El-Baz lectures at the Sheikh Ibrahim Center on: Lighting the Arabian Desert Road from Space.

The center widened its embrace of more friends and lovers of culture through the renovation of a new auditorium. This cultural space was founded and inaugurated and with the generous support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Issa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, and designed by international architect David Chiaverini of the PAD firm.
