The name of the Iraqi poet Khaled Al-Ma’ali is associated with Al-Jamal Publishing House which he founded in 1983 in Cologne, Germany. The organization publishes modern Arabic literature titles, prose and poetry, as well as classical Arabic critical works. “Most of the books I published are books that I loved and I wanted to share the pleasure of reading them with readers, especially poetry works,” he says. Al-Ma’ali is the guest of the House of Poetry in Manama in a meeting entitled “I live outside my watch”.

When his soul left his body and this world, he left a house for poetry, a place for his things, and walls where the poetry he loved would remain. The Bahraini poet Ibrahim Al Arrayed, and all those who (followed) him in his literary journey and translated works, were retained by the Sheikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research in his city which he belonged, Manama. For it was the house of fame, as the first among the homes of cultural centers outside the city of Muharraq.
