Shabir holds a PhD in Arabic Music and is a Professor of Arabic Singing. She also serves as the director of the Arabic music ensemble at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, as well as being a researcher, singer and publisher on the topic of Arab heritage. Shabir works on disseminating Syriac heritage and Maronite chants, recording around 700 Syriac melodies for the Syriac Maronite Church and Syriac Catholic Church. She also toured the world, earning a unique reputation for performing without musical accompaniment.

The center widened its embrace of more friends and lovers of culture through the renovation of a new auditorium. This cultural space was founded and inaugurated and with the generous support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Issa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, and designed by international architect David Chiaverini of the PAD firm.
