The event is finished.

A Lebanese poet who is considered one of the leading poets of the zajal genre, Moussa Zgheib first performed on stage at the age of 17. He was a friend of the poet Khalil Roukoz back in his day and later headed his eponymous choir. In recognition of his efforts and distinguished poetry, the Lebanese government awarded him the Lebanese Order of Merit “for spreading Lebanese heritage in Lebanon and diaspora countries.” Zgheib’s poetry is both deep and easily understood, and he is a guest at the House of Poetry in Manama for a special poetry recital.

When his soul left his body and this world, he left a house for poetry, a place for his things, and walls where the poetry he loved would remain. The Bahraini poet Ibrahim Al Arrayed, and all those who (followed) him in his literary journey and translated works, were retained by the Sheikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research in his city which he belonged, Manama. For it was the house of fame, as the first among the homes of cultural centers outside the city of Muharraq.
