In May 2022, after four years of work, the Al Fadel minaret was restored to its original image. A team of 35 professionals from the Centro di Conservazione Archeologica of Rome carried out 2,200 days of work, using more than 2,000,000 tesserae in gold, colored glass and white marble with the aim of restoring the historical and cultural identity of the minaret. The conference will tell the story of the restoration and the study process and make public the technical and cultural hidden aspects of a project that will remain as the history of this city.
