In collaboration with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Big Band of the German Armed Forces is one of the most prestigious German Big Bands. Its success story started in 1971, when then Minister of Defense, later Federal Chancellor Helmut Schmidt, a gifted musician himself, decided to give the German Armed Forces a more modern sound, beyond the military music performed by the traditional army, navy and air force orchestras. Today, the Big Band of the German Armed Forces has established itself as an outstanding show and entertainment orchestra in Germany, with over 70 concerts every year. Beyond Germany, the Bundeswehr Big Band has toured in many cities. Before their appearance in the Kingdom of Bahrain, they will perform concerts in Djeddah and Riyadh, among others at the official festivities for the Day of German Unity.
The effect of sound tells, of the place of its root, and a portion of the tale of this authentic art form of the Gulf. In the Mohammed bin Fares Hall for the Art of Gulf Sound, the art form is not merely a memory; but also a visual reflection of the beauty of the place, which contains traditional architectural features from the foundations of the original house.
