His Excellency Ghassan Salamé is a renowned Lebanese diplomat and thinker. He graduated from the University of Paris and worked as a professor of international relations. Salamé served as Lebanon’s Minister of Culture and was a special advisor to the United Nations on Middle Eastern affairs. One of his most prominent roles was as the UN Special Envoy to Libya from 2017 to 2020, where he worked to promote political dialogue before resigning due to mounting pressures. Salamé has extensive experience in international politics and has authored several works focusing on violence and statehood in the Middle East. His influence extends beyond the Arab world, earning respect globally for his contributions to political affairs across borders and languages.
