Farida Al-Alaki is a prominent Arab researcher and expert in women’s issues and development, serving as a board member of the Arab Women in Science and Technology Network in the Kingdom of Bahrain. She was a permanent advisor to Prince Talal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and served as the executive director of Mentor Arabia. Al-Alaki also held the position of Director of the Women and Children Division at the Gulf Cooperation Council’s program supporting United Nations development organizations from 1983 to 2011. She contributed to the establishment of the Sustainable Childhood Development project at the United Nations. In 2005, she was selected among a thousand women nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of her impactful role in improving social and humanitarian environments. Al-Alaki holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Sociology from the United States.
