Her Excellency Huda Al Khamis-Kanoo is a philanthropist and patron of the arts dedicated to inspiring artists to create, generations to innovate and communities to unite and thrive. An Emirati national, the daughter of a pioneering Saudi businessman and a Syrian mother, her education took her to the American College of Paris, where she studied French literature and art history. She founded the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) in 1996 and launched its flagship Abu Dhabi Festival in 2004, serving as its Artistic Director. Her Excellency's contribution to the UAE’s cultural sector was recognised by the late President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who appointed her to the Board of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage where she served until 2012. Her accolades include the UAE Order for Culture & Creativity (Custodian category) from H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Order of the British Empire. She is widely regarded as one of the most influential Arab women advancing creativity, art and education in the Arab world.
