Nano, a Syrian singer, songwriter, and composer, discovered the true value of her musical gift during the war in Syria, realizing that life—and her passion—was worth fighting for. Supported by her mother and vocal coach Arax Chekijian, she braved war zones weekly to attend lessons in Damascus. Her dedication led her to Berklee College of Music, where she made the Dean’s List for seven semesters and earned the Professional Music Excellence Award, becoming the first Syrian woman to graduate from the school. Alongside 14 years of piano training, she studied architecture in Syria, urban planning in England, and urban design in Canada. Rooted in traditional Arabic music, Nano’s work blends diverse genres, reflecting her constant search for fusion in sound.
