Khazal Al-Majidi is an academic and researcher specializing in the history of religions, civilizations, and mythology, as well as a playwright and poet. He earned his PhD in Ancient History from the Institute of Arab History and Scientific Heritage in 1996. He has worked in Iraqi media, journalism, and cultural magazines, and has held academic and cultural positions in Iraq, Libya, and the Netherlands, including teaching at the University of Darnah and Leiden University, and currently resides in the Netherlands. He has published 126 books, including 43 on the history of religions and civilizations, 13 on Orientalism and literary/artistic studies, 48 poetry collections, and 10 books on theater, with translations of his work into English, French, Romanian, Persian, and Kurdish. He has delivered over 100 cultural and intellectual lectures in Europe, the U.S., and the Arab world, and has numerous articles published in peer-reviewed journals.
