Khaled Al Khamissi, earned a BA in political science from Cairo University and a master’s in international politics from the Sorbonne. His acclaimed novels Taxi, Noah’s Ark, and Al Shamandar explore contemporary Egyptian society and have been translated into 20 languages. He is also a columnist whose work reflects his dual identity as a political analyst and fiction writer. Al Khamissi founded the cultural foundation Doum after the 2011 revolution to promote critical thinking. In 2021, France honored him as Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
