Dr. Stella Falzone is a distinguished scholar specializing in Roman housing, architecture, and urban culture. Her research focuses on the design and function of Roman residences, including the study of wall paintings from Ostia and their historical context. With a Ph.D. from the University of Rome “La Sapienza,” she has contributed extensively to our understanding of ancient Roman topography and sacred spaces. Dr. Falzone has taught at prominent institutions and holds significant roles in international archaeological associations. She currently serves as a staff scientist at the Institute of Ancient Culture and is actively involved in several scholarly organizations. This lecture is organized in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

From the idea of a house that opens its door to the cultures and sciences of the peoples, to the house whose owner used to write and gather what happens in the place and outside it … the house of Abdullah Al Zayed was the first to found journalism in Bahrain with a modern press and library. He was also the first to open a cinema. He was the only editor who worked passionately to publish the weekly Bahrain Newspaper, and even encouraged aspirants to write about literature and culture.
