Professor Ilias Mohamed Fernini received his PhD in Astrophysics from the University of New Mexico (USA) in 1991. He was the Director of the Department of Space Sciences at the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology. Participated in the team sending a satellite into space, Sharjah-Sat-1. Professor Ilias is committed to education and awareness. Interacting with audiences of all ages and backgrounds, including public lectures, astronomical observations, solar observations, planetarium shows, television interviews, and newspaper articles. He has inspired and educate generations of students and interested people.
