The Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation presents a panel discussion exploring the pivotal role of the Jadid movement in shaping Uzbekistan’s education and culture during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The conversation will highlight their efforts to modernise education by introducing secular subjects and reforming traditional madrasas, as well as their advocacy for the Uzbek language and literature. The presentation also will examine the movement’s contributions to women’s education and its broader cultural impact, emphasizing the Jadids’ lasting influence on Uzbekistan’s intellectual and national identity.
