At a later date, the Abdullah Al Zayed house had to grow. The Sheikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center expanded it with a special addition in March of 2010.

It was vital that the expansion take into account the details and spirit of the original house and its traditional architecture, and for visitors to be transported to its founding and its cultural and intellectual interests. The restoration of the house was sponsored by National Bank of Bahrain.
