Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Center for Culture and Research

Where memory is the house of culture and knowledge; where the original council, separated by a cultural sidewalk that connects Muharraq with the intellectuals and writers of the world. The house itself, located at the heart of the city, opens its doors to cultural production in the fields of thought, literature, politics, philosophy, culture and art.

Abdullah Al Zayed House for Bahraini Press Heritage

From the idea of a house that opens its door to the cultures and sciences of the peoples, to the house whose owner used to write and gather what happens in the place and outside it … the house of Abdullah Al Zayed was the first to found journalism in Bahrain with a modern press and library. He was also the first to open a cinema. He was the only editor who worked passionately to publish the weekly Bahrain Newspaper, and even encouraged aspirants to write about literature and culture.

Mohammed bin Faris Sut Music House

The roots of things run deep. The roots of voices are also the ground from which they came, and the place to which it will loyally return. The voices themselves cannot be uprooted from a house they love, nor from the throats that utter the language of song. If the art of sound had a house, it is ancient, rooted in the throat of the artist Mohamad bin Faris, and if this house had a place on the map of song, then it is in his home, that of Mohammad bin Faris, who was a pioneer in the development of Gulf music, its nuanced beauty and originality.

Restoration of this house was completed with the generous support of

Ibrahim Al Arrayed - House of Poetry

When his soul left his body and this world, he left a house for poetry, a place for his things, and walls where the poetry he loved would remain. The Bahraini poet Ibrahim Al Arrayed, and all those who (followed) him in his literary journey and translated works, were retained by the Sheikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research in his city which he belonged, Manama. For it was the house of fame, as the first among the homes of cultural centers outside the city of Muharraq.

So that these hands wrap around the charm of the old houses that they create …so that the women can reach its gleaming threads from the memory of time, to thread her clothes. Because houses have secure doors, they know how to preserve the stories of that lived inside. For the house of Kurar is the last guardian of the traditional craft of kurar embroidery.

Memory of the place - Bin Matar House

If the sea had a memory, his memory would be rain… a voice far from life has survived, for he is as all those who leave for the sea one day in the life of men, and return: body sounds, as shapes of music and song, then the sea carries their possessions to land, and says: These are signals of survival.

Khalaf House - Memory of Manama

From the Hammam neighborhood of Manama, the Bahraini capital came to have a memory of the life of pearl diving and the story of the sea. This history is evoked in the Mohammad Khalaf House in Manama, a memory of the city to which it belongs. It carries the things of the sea, and pearls; its walls bear the likeness of those who knew the ancient city and forged its history.
