What truly distinguishes Manamat Al Gosaibi, located in Freej Al Fadel in Old Manama, is the juxtaposition of the fine original architectural aesthetics and diverse museum displays against the contemporary part of the house in the form of a cafe. International architect Christophe Martin created the dual visual identity and design of the place - one historical and the other contemporary - while Madison Cocos designed the space connecting them in the form of a green garden through which nature can thrive and give it a luxurious and inspiring environment. The digital shows were produced by Meadows, and draw from poetic and literary recordings of Al-Gosaibi himself, while designer Ammar Bashir gave the adjoining cafe
contemporary design aesthetics.
The historic house was donated by the family of Khalifa Al-Gosaibi to the Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed
Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research to be preserved in memory of Gazi Al-Gosaibi in the place where he grew up. Inaugurated on March 2, 2019, the restoration and rehabilitation works were funded by HRH Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal Al Saud’s Al-Waleed Philanthropies Foundation.
