Opened on: January 12, 2002
It is able, through its beautiful design and traditional architecture, to reinvigorate the passion for culture itself, by reopening this residence as the Sheikh Ebrahim Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research. This project expands into a series of houses, gardens and resources for all visitors with a passion for learning, discovery, culture, and traditional architecture.
This center opened on January 12, 2002, marking a cultural renaissance since the city’s founding at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. It was heralded as a rebirth by the sheikh of writers… a cultural and intellectual rebirth which continues to this day with beautiful and successive seasons of cultural programming in which cultural practitioners work with care and vision to create a spirit of culture in this city. By opening the door to the place of the sheikh of writers, these cultural programs have welcomed more than 550 intellectual and cultural figures. Much has been said and done in the fields of literature, poetry, music, art, philosophy and theory, architecture, thought and everything related to human production. In each of these meetings and evening gatherings, the hand of culture touched her admirers, enthusiasts and researchers who study what touches the mind and spirit.
With these cultural producers, the Sheikh Ebrahim Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research has become a place for beautiful creation, for the proliferation of knowledge and culture, and for the continuation of exquisite chapters where every cultural season devotes its programs through events and symposiums and exhibitions and workshops for the sake of connecting cultural practitioners with enthusiasts and those who express themselves or are touched by them…
