Maha Al-Atoom is a Jordanian poet and critic, one of the most distinguished Arab poetic voices. She holds a PhD in Arabic Language from the University of Jordan and is a university professor in the Department of Arabic Language. Dr. Maha has received several awards, including the State Appreciation Award for Literature in 2017, she has many publications in poetry and novel, and some of her books have been translated into English. Dr. Maha Al-Atoum participates in Arab festivals and conferences and has been a member of many juries of poetry and cultural competitions.
When his soul left his body and this world, he left a house for poetry, a place for his things, and walls where the poetry he loved would remain. The Bahraini poet Ibrahim Al Arrayed, and all those who (followed) him in his literary journey and translated works, were retained by the Sheikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research in his city which he belonged, Manama. For it was the house of fame, as the first among the homes of cultural centers outside the city of Muharraq.
