Ilan Pappe is one of the most prominent researchers and historians of what is known as New Historians who rewrote the history of Israel. He holds a PhD in History from Oxford University. He is a professor at the College of Social Sciences and International Studies at the University of Exeter in Britain where he also directs the European Center for Palestinian Studies. Among his most famous books are The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, The Idea of Israel: A History of Power and Knowledge, and The Forgotten Palestinians: A History of the 1948 Palestinians.
