Mirza Kowayldi is a Saudi journalist and columnist, and serves as the senior editor of Asharq Al-Awsat Newspaper, focusing on Gulf affairs and cultural editorial roles in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. In addition to his work as a journalist for three decades with Asharq Al-Awsat, he conducts seminars and lectures at several Arab cultural events. Mirza Kowayldi maintains strong relations with official figures, and political and cultural actors in the Gulf countries and the Arab world, and writes political analysis and reports related to regional events. During his career, Kowayldi has conducted more than 150 cultural interviews during his regional and international visits and coverage.

From the idea of a house that opens its door to the cultures and sciences of the peoples, to the house whose owner used to write and gather what happens in the place and outside it … the house of Abdullah Al Zayed was the first to found journalism in Bahrain with a modern press and library. He was also the first to open a cinema. He was the only editor who worked passionately to publish the weekly Bahrain Newspaper, and even encouraged aspirants to write about literature and culture.
