Samia Nkrumah is a Ghanaian politician and chairperson of the Convention People’s Party (CPP). She is the daughter of Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana. Mrs. Nkrumah began her career as a bank clerk, then joined Al-Ahram as a journalist in various capacities beginning in 1989. She was elected as the first woman chairperson of the Convention People’s Party in 2011, becoming the first woman to ever head a major political party in Ghana. Samia Nkrumah studied oriental and African studies at the University of London and presents lectures in this field entitled “Pan-Africanism and Afro-Arab Solidarity”.

The house itself, located at the heart of the city, opens its doors to cultural production in the fields of thought, literature, politics, philosophy, culture and art.
