Ghassan Ali Othman is a Sudanese researcher, writer, and journalist with many published works, including Muhammad Abed Al-Jabri: A Critique of Reason, Secularism: On the Critique of the Question of Civilisation, Decor of Wailing in the Meaning of Biography, Identity: Dismantling Corrupt Statements and Elitist Violence: A Study of Creation and Privelege. He also held several cultural posts, including former editor of Al-Khartoum magazine, director of the “100 Books in Sudanese Culture” project, presenter of “Al-Warraq” programme on channel Sudanese 24, as well as various published studies in Arab and Western periodicals.
From the idea of a house that opens its door to the cultures and sciences of the peoples, to the house whose owner used to write and gather what happens in the place and outside it … the house of Abdullah Al Zayed was the first to found journalism in Bahrain with a modern press and library. He was also the first to open a cinema. He was the only editor who worked passionately to publish the weekly Bahrain Newspaper, and even encouraged aspirants to write about literature and culture.
